Communication Connections Workshop
TALKING TARGETS How you say what you say influences the effectiveness of your message. Learn to "aim for the right target" in your style of communicating. COMMUNISTAR The "anti-rambling device," this tool organizes your perceptions of an issue by pinpointing one area at a time. Learn to separate and describe your thoughts, feelings, expectations, goals and actions for precise communication. CLOSING THE LOOP By focusing on good listening habits and verbal feedback, this skill ensures the accurate exchange of information for understanding. VALUING Good communication involves attitude as well as skills. Learn to honor one another even when you disagree. Everyone is valuable in God's sight. During each session, the Hellers present each skill, model its use, and coach participants through their utilization of that skill. By the end of the seminar, participants are equipped with tools to discuss the issues of their lives. Optional follow-up sessions are available to address specific issues. Ideal participants include: * married couples * ministry teams * singles contemplating marriage * siblings * co-workers * parents and children
Triple-R Weekend
When was the last time you and your spouse took the time to go for a long, uninterrupted walk together? Or to play golf or tennis or go shopping as a couple? Are you "on the same page" when it comes to setting goals for your children or planning your next household project? Using the "How to Have a Triple-R Weekend" notebook as a guide, you will learn to set aside regular opportunities for weekends of Romance, Recreation and Renewal. During this overnight seminar, you will have time for: * ROMANCE - Rediscover the reason you married in the first place. Take time to hold hands, look into each other's eyes, and rekindle the flame of your love. * RECREATION - Remember how much fun it is to play together, to participate in each other's leisure-time activities, and relax in a different setting. * RENEWAL - Refresh your spirits and regroup as a couple while you assess your lives and plan together for the future. A must for couples caught in a perpetual whirlwind of busyness, this seminar is the first step to establish a lifelong habit of devoting time exclusively for one another.
Marital Mystery Tour
COMRADESHIP This session describes comradeship, or friendship, as the foundation for a lasting relationship. The Hellers share how the Lord brought them together as two Jewish gymnasts called to full-time Christian work, yet with sometimes conflicting personalities and viewpoints. They discuss the importance of being a friend to your mate. COMMITMENT The Hellers cover the necessity of accepting one another no matter what occurs. They discuss each other's strengths and weaknesses, dealing with past issues (prior to marriage) as well as past and present hurts within the marriage. COMMUNICATION Two major skills from the Communication Connections Workshop are presented: "active listening" and "closing the loop." These skills are vital for relational unity. COMPLETENESS This session covers physical intimacy within the marriage relationship, building trust in each other, the need for accountability, and when to bring in a third party to resolve conflict. The major focus of this session is "How to Have a Triple-R Weekend," encouraging couples to take personal getaways to renew their love for one another. CONSECRATION The conference culminates in this final session of recommitment to each other as spouses. This session may include individual private times of confession and repentance, if necessary, and ends with a renewal of your marriage vows. Beginning with a romantic Friday evening dinner and ending with a Saturday afternoon renewal of marriage vows, this weekend seminar is packed with inspiration, tips, and opportunities for couples to gain hope for a successful marriage.
